Reviews, dealer reports and customer testimonials are coming through thick and fast for the eagerly awaited Wadax Studio Player one box digital source.
Firstly, and good news for the Wadax brand as a whole here in the UK, England’s premier high end dealer KJ West One have voted with their feet after extensive trials and followed Lotus in going all in with Wadax. They have been bowled over by the Studio Player and are quickly amassing sales after very fast and easy customer demonstrations. Their own demonstration Wadax Atlantis Reference equipment is also soon to be delivered and will take pride of place in their central London showroom as the ultimate ‘cost no object’ music maker.
The UK dealer roster is now up to 4 of the very best artisan high end outfits all of whom really take the time to carefully hand pick and understand the gems they bring to their customers. The brand then is in very good hands and the future looks exciting indeed.

Over on Gy8, Roy Gregory has posted some detailed setup notes and initial listening impressions. His findings are glowing, stating that the Studio Player more than lives up to the hype and like its bigger brother the Reference, allows you to understand music in terms of shape and pattern and makes its case on musical grounds rather than sonic.
“It underlines just how wide a yawning musical gulf exists between this machine and anything else out there that can match its functionality at anywhere near its price.”

In November’s issue of Hifi Plus, Alan Sircom also penned a full review of the Studio Player and subsequently awarded it best digital disc replay unit for 2025. He found the sound rich and dark and was keen to underline just how musical the unit was, whether spinning discs, or playing from streamimg services or files.
“its sound is both distinctive and good enough to grant WADAX admission to digital’s top table.”

Demand across the globe for actual units, particularly in China and North America, has been overwhelming. Luckily here we will be just about be able to fullfill all 2024 orders before the year is out. Next year we will really get into top gear though, the Studio Player at its price point is a true gift, offering more than all but the very wealthiest of audiophiles could ever want or need from a digital source.
